The CHBG is a group of people committed to preparing, maintaining, and disseminating systematic reviews about the benefits and harms of interventions used in people with hepato-biliary diseases.
The main focus of The CHBG is on:
- preparing systematic reviews of the identified healthcare interventions on people with hepato-biliary diseases (preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and care interventions) according to the guidelines of Cochrane. It also includes identification of all randomised clinical trials (RCTs) and controlled clinical studies (CCTs), dealing with healthcare interventions of relevance to patients with hepato-biliary diseases.
- preparing Cochrane systematic reviews of the accuracy (sensitivity and specificity) of diagnostic tests. This also includes identification of diagnostic test accuracy studies for diagnosis of hepato-biliary diseases and their inclusion in The CHBG Diagnostic Test Accuracy Studies Register.
- preparing overview of reviews published in the Cochrane Library.
Guidelines for preparation of the first and third review type are given in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions and for the second review type in the Handbook for DTA Reviews.
The CHBG will not duplicate work that is carried out by other Collaborative Review Groups.
